Every month we honor a special foster care hero. See below for this month's honoree!

Many of our students and alumni would not be where they are – in colleges and training programs, making careers, and raising families – were it not for the support of a special person or organization. Foster parents, caseworkers, CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates), educators, mentors, coaches and more all make a difference in the lives of America’s foster youth. Welcome 2014 Aim Higher Fellows!

AIM HIGHER uses video and social media to engage foster parents, social workers, mentors and employers in FC2S’ national movement to link education and training to employment and successful adulthood. Today we welcome the 2014 Aim Higher Fellows to Washington DC for the start of a two-week training program.

AIM HIGHER – Miguel is a high school senior from Brooklyn, NY and grand prize award winner of the 16th annual Awards for Youth in Foster Care.  Over 50 NYC foster youth submitted entries to this contest honoring excellence in creative writing.
